LAUREL, DE – Delaware State Police have detained 58-year-old Wade Bowersox of Bethel, Delaware, marking his sixth arrest for driving under the influence (DUI). The arrest occurred early Friday morning in Laurel.

At about 12:32 a.m. on March 15, a state trooper noticed a red Ford F-250 swerving out of its lane on County Seat Highway, just west of Sussex Highway. Following several traffic violations, the vehicle was stopped. The driver, identified as Bowersox, exhibited signs of impairment, leading to his arrest after failing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

Investigations confirmed Bowersox’s history of five prior DUI convictions. He was taken to Troop 5, charged with a sixth offense DUI—a felony—and held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,503 cash bond.
