Elderly Man Killed in Assault at NYC Apartment Dispute

NEW YORK, NY — A tragic incident occurred on Monday, March 18, when police were called to a dispute in a residence located near 108th Street and 43rd Avenue in the 110th Precinct. Upon responding to the 911 call at approximately 1:20 PM, officers learned that a 79-year-old man had been repeatedly assaulted by a 47-year-old individual.

Emergency Medical Services transported the elderly victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was sadly pronounced dead. The 47-year-old male, described as a person of interest in the incident, has been taken into custody. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal altercation is actively ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time, pending notification of his family. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses and authorities work to uncover the motive behind this devastating event.
