South Jersey Man Arrested After Luring Monmouth County Teen Online

FREEHOLD, NJ — A man from Gloucester County has been taken into custody for allegedly engaging in inappropriate conversations with a 14-year-old from Monmouth County. Raymond S. Santiago, the Monmouth County Prosecutor, revealed the arrest of 33-year-old Jeremy M. Slickerman of West Deptford, charging him with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrest stems from an investigation that began earlier this month after the Middletown Township Police Department alerted the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Bureau’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Investigations found that Slickerman communicated with the minor through various online platforms, including Xbox Live, Skype, Discord, and Chat IB, urging the teen to meet him at a nearby park and to engage in inappropriate acts with others.

Authorities, including the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Search Warrant Entry Team and the West Deptford Police Department, arrested Slickerman at his residence on Friday at 8 a.m. Slickerman, known online as “Blue Jay” on Chat IB and “Tcencho” on other platforms, is now facing charges. The public is urged to provide any relevant information on Slickerman’s activities to MCPO Detective Dylan Lovgren or Middletown Police Department Detect
