The New Jersey Lottery faced a mechanical glitch during the Pick-4 evening drawing on Thursday, March 14, as not all balls released into the chamber before a winning number was chosen, leading to an incomplete draw. The initial numbers drawn were 8826, with a Fireball number of 2.

To rectify the situation, a secondary Pick-4 machine was promptly substituted, tested, and reset before conducting a second drawing, which yielded the winning numbers 8782 without any further incident. Both sets of drawn numbers will be honored, and players from the second draw are instructed to mail in their claim forms along with their tickets.

While the Fireball number 2 from the first draw remains valid for Pick-3 and both Pick-4 drawings, players can view videos of both drawings on the Lottery’s social media platforms. Additionally, for the afternoon Pick-4 drawing on Friday, March 15, a secondary machine will be utilized while the primary machine undergoes thorough checks to ensure functionality, demonstrating the Lottery’s proactive approach to technical difficulties.
