West Virginia Man Sentenced for Methamphetamine and Firearms Offenses

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – William Albert Flinn, Jr., a 45-year-old resident of Moorefield, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 195 months in federal prison on charges related to methamphetamine distribution and firearms possession.

In August 2023, Flinn admitted guilt to charges of possessing with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The conviction stems from an incident in Hardy County, where Flinn displayed an assault rifle to a buyer during a methamphetamine sale. Following this, a search warrant executed at Flinn’s residence led to the discovery of 383 grams of methamphetamine, the assault rifle, and a sum of cash.

Following the completion of his prison term, Flinn is mandated to undergo 5 years of supervised release, underscoring the legal system’s commitment to monitoring and rehabilitating individuals post-incarceration.
