D.C. Armed Robbery Suspect Caught On Camera, Takes off With Cash Register In Hand

Washington, D.C. – In an urgent appeal to the public, the D.C. Metro Police Department detectives are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect and a vehicle involved in a recent armed robbery in Southeast D.C. On Monday, March 18, at around 7:08 a.m., an armed suspect entered a business located in the 3200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.

The assailant leaped over the sales counter, brandishing a firearm, and proceeded to steal money from one cash register and take another register entirely before escaping in a vehicle. The getaway car, a white Acura MDX with a Virginia temporary tag numbered 68522F, and the suspect were captured on nearby surveillance footage.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle to refrain from taking any direct action and instead contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tips can be texted to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
