Shooting in D.C. Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Washington, D.C. – A deadly shooting in Southeast D.C. has resulted in one fatality and left another man wounded. The incident occurred late yesterday afternoon, causing immediate response from the D.C. Metro Police Department.

Officers from the Sixth District were dispatched to the 5000 block of C Street at around 4:22 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot injuries. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Rasheem Bankins from Temple Hills, Maryland.
