Arrest Made in Connection with December Chanel Store Robbery in D.C.

Washington, D.C. – D.C. Metro Police Department detectives have made an arrest in the December 2023 robbery of a Chanel store.

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 17th around 5:30 p.m., when five suspects stormed into the luxury retail store in the 900 block of I Street, Northwest. One of the assailants used a fire extinguisher to attack a Special Police Officer while accomplices looted merchandise.

Following an in-depth investigation by the Second District, an arrest warrant was issued for 18-year-old Romello Marquez of Northeast, D.C. Marquez was apprehended yesterday by the U.S. Marshal’s Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.


Marquez faces charges of Attempt to Commit Robbery while Armed. As the investigation continues, detectives are searching for additional suspects and urge anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
