Armed And Dangerous Criminal Facing ICE Detainer at Ocean County Jail

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A violent Illegal migrant is being held on a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detainer at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.

According to jail records, Walter Y. Oseguer Amurillo, is being detained for multiple violent crimes. It is unknown at this time where in Ocean County he was arrested, but was processed at the Ocean County Jail on Thursday.

The ACLU explains ICE detainers as a written request that a local jail or other law enforcement agency detain an individual for an additional 48 hours after his or her release date to provide ICE agents extra time to decide whether to take the individual into federal custody for removal purposes.”


It is not known, at this time, whether Ocean County will honor Amurillo’s detainer. He is being held on a $3,750 bond.

Amurillo faces multiple charges, including Criminal Restraint and Threat to Kill, classified as grade B and C felonies, respectively. Additionally, he is accused of possessing dum-dum bullets, unlawful possession of a handgun, and having a firearm for an unlawful purpose, with these charges varying from C to D in their classification.

Other charges he is facing include Simple Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both categorized as significant offenses. Amurillo is also charged with manufacturing a defaced firearm, a grade D felony, indicating the seriousness of the weapons-related accusations.

He is also facing multiple motor vehicle charges, including driving without a license on multiple occasions, underscoring concerns about his adherence to vehicular laws. These driving-related charges are designated as grade D offenses.
