Atlantic City Drug Raid Leads to Multiple Arrests and Seizures

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A comprehensive investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section has culminated in the arrest of three individuals, along with the seizure of drugs and a handgun. The operation, which spanned one month, targeted illegal narcotics distribution activities within the city.

Detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant on March 21, 2024, in the first block of South Kentucky Avenue, leading to the arrest of Semaj Poteat, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The search extended to an apartment building where Poteat was apprehended, resulting in the discovery of two more individuals, Laquanda Bailey and Tyjur Blocker, inside the residence.

The search yielded significant findings, including a loaded handgun, 14 grams of cocaine, over 15 grams of heroin, 29 individual bags of heroin, more than $1,400 in cash, and various items related to the packaging and distribution of narcotics. The operation was spearheaded by Detective Troy Grams, highlighting the department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution in Atlantic City.
