Baltimore Police Make Arrest in Northeast District Shooting

BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore Police Department announced the arrest of 21-year-old Zahlir Gantt in connection with a shooting that occurred in the Northeast District on December 19, 2023. The incident left a 26-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds after he was attacked while driving along the 2300 block of East Northern Parkway.

Gantt was apprehended by Warrant Apprehension detectives on March 21, 2024, at a residence in the 2400 block of Wellbridge Avenue. Following his arrest, Gantt was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder.

The victim, who sought treatment at a local hospital shortly after the shooting, was listed in stable condition. The arrest marks a significant development in the investigation, initially launched following the incident in December.
