Chicago Teen Faces Multiple Felony Charges

CHICAGO, IL — A 16-year-old male has been charged with two felony counts of attempted murder in the first degree, alongside other serious offenses. Additionally, he faces two felony counts of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor count of battery causing bodily harm.

The charges stem from an incident on March 23, where the juvenile reportedly assaulted a 22-year-old female before firing shots into a vehicle. This attack, which occurred around 12:14 p.m. in the 7900 block of S. Wood St., resulted in injuries to a 40-year-old male and a 37-year-old female. Following his arrest on March 24 in the 600 block of E. 51st St., the teen was identified as the assailant and is now facing legal action. His detention hearing is scheduled at the Juvenile Detention Center located at 1100 S. Hamilton. The Chicago Police Department has not released further details regarding the case.
