Do You Recognize Him? Newark Porch Pirate Sought by Police

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Department of Public Safety is actively seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a recent package theft.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has made a public appeal for help in identifying a male suspect believed to be responsible for a package theft that occurred on the evening of Friday, March 22. The theft took place at a residence located at the intersection of Stuyvesant Avenue and Colleen Street, where a package was reported stolen from the front steps at approximately 6:43 p.m., shortly after its delivery at 6 p.m. The suspect was last seen walking north on Stuyvesant Avenue.

The suspect in question is described as having a light complexion and was wearing all-black clothing, complemented by black and gray New Balance sneakers at the time of the theft. The Newark Public Safety Department urges anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
