Biden Recalls Memories of Train Travel Over Collapsed Bridge That Had No Train Tracks

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Joe Biden expressed his fond memories of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, reminiscing about the times he traveled over it as a U.S. Senator. The bridge, a key route between Delaware and Baltimore, does not have train tracks, highlighting its role primarily in vehicular transport.

During his speech, he mentioned that he traveled over the bridge to Baltimore and Washington, D.C. by train.

The structure faced a catastrophic event on Tuesday when a cargo ship collided with it, leading to its collapse. The incident has drawn attention to the bridge’s significance in regional connectivity and the president’s personal connection to the landmark.
