Bridgeville Cop Charged After Crash Injures Pedestrian

BRIDGEVILLE, PA – A former Bridgeville Police Officer, Daine Lower, age 25, has been charged following an incident where a patrol vehicle he was driving struck and critically injured a 25-year-old woman. The collision occurred at the intersection of Bower Hill Road and Commercial Street at 12:51 am on December 21, 2023.

The victim was crossing in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by the patrol car, which was traveling at 29 mph without the brakes applied at the time of impact. Investigation revealed Lower was using his cell phone and watching a video just before the collision. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide and Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation, having taken over from the Collier Township Police at their request.
