Latest Burglaries and Home Invasions in Toms River: Here's What We Know So Far

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A series of burglaries and thefts have rattled the North Dover (Tallymawr) area of Toms River, with three crimes reported between the night of April 3 and the early hours of April 4. Authorities believe the same group of suspects may be responsible for all incidents.

In the early morning of April 4, at around 3:06 a.m., four individuals, clad in dark attire and face masks, forcefully entered a Reynolds Avenue home through a front window. The perpetrators stole over $100,000 worth of jewelry and cameras while the residents were asleep inside.

Following the theft at Reynolds Avenue, the suspects moved to a nearby location on Brentwood Avenue. Here, they managed to start an Audi parked in a driveway without taking it. By 3:30 a.m., they left the vehicle running and proceeded to another house on the same street.

At approximately 3:37 a.m., the occupants of the third home were startled awake by noises of an attempted break-in from the backyard. The culprits broke a rear window to gain entry but fled when they realized the homeowners were awake. It remains unclear whether any items were taken from this residence.

The Toms River Police Department, in collaboration with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, is actively investigating these incidents. Efforts are being made to apprehend the suspects and prevent future crimes.

The police urge anyone with information related to these burglaries to reach out to Detective Carey at 732-349-0150, extension 1292, or Detective MacRae at extension 1323.
