ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — In a tragic incident on March 31, a 16-year-old boy, identified as Kevin Wilson, was fatally shot in the 600 block of Hill Avenue. Allegheny County Police, called to the scene at 10:21 PM, found Wilson with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Wilson succumbed to his injuries. The Wilkinsburg Police sought the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit’s help, leading to an immediate investigation.
The investigation revealed a fight preceding the shooting and the recovery of 15 bullet casings from multiple firearms at the scene. Surveillance footage and witness statements implicated Kira Jackson, 23, and Alicia Johnson, 23, both of Pittsburgh, in the fatal shooting. It was determined Wilson was an unintended victim, caught in gunfire outside a residence.
Both Jackson and Johnson face charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and unauthorized firearm possession. Jackson is currently held in the Allegheny County Jail, while Johnson turned herself in late last night, thanks to community assistance in the case.
