Delaware State Police Arrest Teen in Stolen Vehicle with Firearms and Drugs

MIDDLETOWN, DE – A 17-year-old from Middletown faces multiple felony charges after being apprehended by Delaware State Police in a stolen vehicle, following a foot chase.

The incident occurred on April 4, around 9:49 AM, when troopers were dispatched to the Wawa at 2398 Dupont Parkway upon reports of a stolen 2023 black Dodge Durango with Florida plates. Upon arrival, officers observed two suspects exiting the Durango and initiating a foot pursuit. The suspects split directions, with the driver heading towards a field and the passenger attempting to re-enter the vehicle before fleeing.

The passenger, later identified as a 17-year-old male, was located hiding near a wood line by Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 4. Despite an attempted escape, he was captured after a short pursuit.

The driver remains unidentified and at large, last seen wearing all black and potentially armed. A foot pursuit with this individual resulted in a trooper sustaining a serious injury, treated at a local hospital.

The vehicle, confirmed stolen from West Manchester Township, Pennsylvania, contained a Polymer 80 ghost gun loaded with 17 rounds, an extended magazine, 19 Oxycodone pills, and approximately 2.57 grams of marijuana.
