Homeless Man Faces Aggravated Assault Charges After D.C. Fight

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a violent altercation on Columbia Road Northwest that left another man in grave condition.

The incident, which took place in the early hours of April 9, prompted a swift response from the Third District officers to the 1700 block of Columbia Road Northwest. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim who had been severely assaulted during a fight.

Investigations revealed that 35-year-old Brandon Jones, a man without a fixed address, was responsible for the assault, which occurred during a dispute. Jones fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police. The victim, who suffered life-threatening injuries, is currently hospitalized in a critical state.
