62-Year-Old Woman Attacked During Botched Purse Snatching

NEW YORK, NY – A 62-year-old woman was assaulted early Monday morning in Queens. The incident took place in front of 41-38 Hampton Street around 6:20 AM.

An assailant approached the woman from behind, grabbed her neck, and dragged her to the ground in an attempt to steal her bag. Although the attempt was unsuccessful, the assailant fled southbound on Hampton Street and was last seen at the intersection of 82nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
