Reward Offered in Oxon Hill Homicide Investigation

OXON HILL, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Tyrone Avent, which occurred on Thursday evening in Oxon Hill. A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.

The incident took place on April 11, 2024, around 5:30 PM near the intersection of Neptune Avenue and Audrey Lane. Responding officers discovered Avent suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are currently seeking to establish a motive and identify any suspects involved in this tragic event. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
