WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police in D.C. have apprehended a man linked to a racially charged stabbing incident. The arrest occurred following a confrontation inside a food establishment located at the 1200 block of New York Avenue, Northwest, on Tuesday at approximately 6:15 PM.
The incident involved the suspect, who threatened and made racially derogatory comments toward the victims while brandishing a knife. An intervention attempt by one of the victims resulted in them being stabbed. Police responded promptly and took the suspect into custody at the scene.
The arrested individual, identified as 63-year-old Reginald Pickett from Northeast, DC, faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). The case is currently being investigated as potentially motivated by hate or bias, although this designation may be reassessed as new information emerges.
