CLARK, NJ – Vaccaro’s Bakery, a beloved local establishment in Clark, has announced it will be closing its doors for good on Sunday, April 21. Owners Vinny and Eileen Vaccaro shared the news on Facebook, reflecting on the bakery’s long history and their personal journey.
Founded in the 1930s by Ralph Vaccaro in the Italian district of Elizabeth, the bakery moved through generations of the Vaccaro family. After the original Washington Street Bakery closed in 1954, Ralph and his son Vincent opened Vaccaro’s Bakery in Colonia. The legacy continued with Vincent’s son, Vinny, and his wife Eileen, who expanded by opening the now-closing Clark location.
The decision to close marks a bittersweet moment for the owners as they retire and move onto the next chapter of their lives. The Colonia location closed its doors in 2009, and now the Clark branch follows, leaving behind a legacy of sweet memories and cherished community moments.
