Delaware State Police apprehended Tavon White, a 28-year-old resident of Newark, Delaware, for committing a felony assault at Delaware Park Casino in Wilmington. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Friday morning at the casino located at 777 Delaware Park Boulevard. Troopers were summoned to the scene following a disturbance report and found the victim and suspect, Tavon White, who had ceased their altercation.
An investigation revealed that the conflict arose when White engaged in a dispute with the victim over a poker game, resulting in White physically assaulting the victim, which escalated into a physical fight, culminating in the two men knocking over a poker table. The victim, an unnamed adult male, suffered severe injuries and was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Tavon White emerged from the altercation unharmed and was apprehended peacefully by law enforcement officers. Following his arrest, White was transported to Troop 2, where he faced charges of second-degree assault, classified as a felony, and criminal mischief.
A court arraignment took place at Justice of the Peace Court 11, after which White was remanded to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution upon posting a $10,500 cash bond. T
