Delaware State Police took Bryan Gray, a 40-year-old resident of New Castle, Delaware, into custody for a string of shoplifting incidents targeting a Target store in Wilmington.
The thefts, which began in late March and continued until mid-April, involved repeated instances of stealing skincare and cosmetic items from the establishment situated at 3240 Kirkwood Highway. Troopers were able to track the suspect after an unrelated investigation led one of them to intercept Gray in the act of concealing cosmetic products on April 22, 2024, at the same store where prior incidents had taken place. Gray complied with authorities and was found with several unpaid cosmetic items secreted in his clothing.
Investigations revealed that Gray was linked to five separate shoplifting occurrences over a period of less than a month, resulting in the theft of merchandise valued at more than $8,200.
He was transported to Troop 2 for processing and charging. The accused faced allegations pertaining to the thefts, including two felony counts of shoplifting over $1,500 and three counts of shoplifting under $1,500. Following the arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, Gray was remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post a $6,000 secured bond.
