Arrest Made in Baltimore Shooting - Attempted Murder

Investigators have arrested 24-year-old Andre Canady of Baltimore in connection with the shooting that occurred in the Northwest District on a Saturday.

Canady was involved in a physical altercation in the 1800 block of Bloomingdale Road, leading to a 23-year-old male being shot. Detectives took Canady into custody on Sunday, April 3, 2024, and charged him with attempted first-degree murder.

The shooting incident, which took place in the Northwest District, unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, March 19, 2024, around 1:00 a.m. Northwest District patrol officers, engaged in a routine traffic initiative in the 3100 block of West North Avenue, heard gunfire and promptly responded. Subsequently, in the 1800 block of Bloomingdale Road, they discovered a 27-year-old male with gunshot wounds. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, with authorities reporting that his injuries are not life-threatening.
