The Delaware State Police arrested Zion Adeduwon, 22, of Bowie, and Bryce Jenifer, 22, of Silver Spring, both from Maryland, on accusations of drug-related misconduct and resisting arrest after a chase that occurred in New Castle County on Friday.
Police said the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. near I-95 and the Biden Welcome Center. Patrol officers attempted to pull over a white 2020 BMW 3 series observed traveling northbound with its emergency lights on,
The car did not comply and attempted to escape at high speed instead. The pursuit ensued as the BMW drove recklessly through several roads in the Wilmington area. It was later stopped near State Route 896 due to a construction zone on I-95 southbound. Still, the BMW disregarded the lane closure, drove into the closed lanes, and finally terminated the chase on West Newport Pike following an accident.
Upon searching Adeduwon, police uncovered $6,141 in suspected drug revenue. A subsequent search of the BMW resulted in the discovery of about 1,498 grams of marijuana and related paraphernalia. Both suspects were transported to Troop 2 and confronted with several allegations. Zion Adeduwon was charged with various offenses, including possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, disregarding a police officer’s signal, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and additional traffic infractions. Adeduwon was freed on a $5,555 unsecured bond. On the other hand, Bryce Jenifer faced accusations of possessing drugs with the intent to deliver and resisting arrest. He was arraigned, released on a $4,500 unsecured bond, and charged accordingly.
