Upstate NY Accused Attacker Faces New Charges for Assaulting Long Island Mother Holding Infant Son
Suffolk County prosecutors charged Preston Wido, 37, from Saratoga County, with various domestic violence charges on Wednesday. The charges stem from allegations that Wido choked the Long Island mother of his infant son while holding the child.
Investigators reported that Wido had left threatening voicemails for the victim and was arrested for aggravated harassment a week later. A stay-away order was issued following his arrest.
Wido continued to harass the woman, showing up at her apartment and threatening her over the next 10 days. Prosecutors claim that he even violated the protection order by calling the victim over 1,300 times. Additionally, during the investigation, authorities discovered a previous domestic incident in August 2023, where Wido was caught on home surveillance video choking the woman while holding their infant son.
At the time of these incidents, Wido was out on bail for various charges in Albany County, including robbery, rape, strangulation, and animal cruelty.
