OXFORD, PA – A 50-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested during a high school sporting event in Chester County after officials revealed he had stolen over $6,000 from a youth softball team.

James “Rudy” Allen, of Cochranville, faces charges of Theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and receiving stolen property, according to the Oxford Police Department.

Allen was taken into custody on Thursday following an investigation sparked in April 2022.

It was found that funds intended for a youth softball team had been misappropriated. Authorities stated that he had collected donations during fundraisers in 2021 and 2022, which were meant to support the team but were instead improperly used. Oxford police issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday that led to Allen’s arrest on Wednesday at the high school sporting event.
