Gel Blaster Fight at Local Hotel Ends in Arrest After Suspects Fled Scene

Milford, CT – An 18-year-old Connecticut man was arrested after he hit a police car to escape from officers investigating a shots fired incident on Saturday, April 27. The incident unfolded at the Holiday Inn Express at 278 Old Gate Lane, where Milford Police had responded to a “possible shots fired” call. A black sedan driven by the man in question struck a police cruiser before speeding away, eventually stopping on Old Gate Lane after a pursuit.

The man, identified as Eric Johnson-Charles, was then apprehended by officers without resistance and charged with engaging police in pursuit and interfering with an officer.

Further investigation revealed that Johnson-Charles and a group had been using toy gel-blaster guns to shoot at each other, resulting in added infractions for causing a public disturbance. He was subsequently released on a promise to appear.
