South Carolina Woman Knew She Was Going to Die, Warned Friend

Bamberg County, SC – A South Carolina woman has been found dead, with her boyfriend facing accusations of killing her before burning a car with her inside. The suspect, Jarrett Haskell Davis, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and other offenses relating to the death of his girlfriend, Megan Bodiford.

She was last seen on April 25 in Denmark, South Carolina.

According to law enforcement officials, an ominous text message Bodiford sent before going missing indicated potential danger. The Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office discovered a burned-out car with human remains inside, later identified as Bodiford. The Sheriff’s Office has called on the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for assistance in the investigation, resulting in Davis’ arrest on Friday.

Investigators obtained a search warrant, detailing the collection of several items including an iPhone and security cameras as evidence from the couple’s home. Bodiford’s family expressed frustration with law enforcement, citing a domestic violence arrest warrant against Davis. The victim and mother of three daughters had a GoFundMe page set up in her honor. Davis is currently in custody at the Bamberg County Jail without bond.
