SEVERN – A man from Anne Arundel County revealed to Lottery officials on Wednesday that after months away, he returned to playing scratch-off games by chance, becoming Maryland’s newest Lottery millionaire.
The grocery store produce manager shared that lack of luck and his wife’s concerns led him to pause playing, despite a $200 win on a 50X The Cash scratch-off earlier in the year.
The Severn resident saw a Lottery vending machine at a Columbia Walmart and decided to purchase an instant ticket, reminiscent of his previous significant win. Shortly after scratching it, he discovered he held a million-dollar prize, evoking feelings of shock and profound gratitude.
Following his win, the unnamed player confided in his son, sharing the emotional moment of the big win discreetly. With plans to financially secure his family’s future, the winner expressed great relief about not having to worry anymore.
Lottery officials did not reveal the man’s name.
