Woman Attacked and Robbed in Wilkes-Barre

Wilkes-Barre, PA – The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to an incident involving a robbery and assault on Thursday evening.

The altercation occurred at 47 South Washington Street which led to the defendant, Dayvon Green, being charged with Robbery and Simple Assault. The victim, a 27-year-old female from Kingston, reported that Green physically assaulted her before taking her wallet forcibly from her purse.

Green, aged 32 and a resident of Wilkes-Barre, fled the scene after the assault. Officers were dispatched to the location following a report of an assault and upon arriving, found the victim who detailed the events leading up to the robbery. The verbal altercation over items in the victim’s purse escalated into a physical assault by Green.

Green was not present at the scene when the police arrived and is now facing charges for his involvement in the incident, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.
