Yardley Man Walked Neighborhood in Camo Carrying Rifle, Detained for Mental Health Screening

UNION AVENUE, NJ – A distressing situation unfolded yesterday afternoon when police were alerted to a man seen carrying a weapon around Union Avenue and Sixth Street at approximately 3:10 PM.

Responding officers encountered the man, who was dressed in camouflage and had a rifle strapped to his body. Upon noticing the police, the individual quickly retreated into his home.

The situation escalated when the man re-emerged from his residence, still armed and making several alarming statements, before retreating once more.

After a tense period, he eventually surrendered to the authorities and was taken into custody. He was then transported to a local hospital for mental health treatment.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at his home where several weapons were found. Criminal charges have been filed following the incident. No injuries were reported.
