Drug and Weapons Bust in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, MD – In a significant operation on May 30, 2024, at 12:50 PM, Northern District detectives made a substantial arrest in Glen Burnie involving drugs and illegal firearms. The action stemmed from efforts to apprehend a suspect with an outstanding warrant for drug and handgun charges.

Detectives located the wanted individual, Jayson Steven Jones, a 46-year-old male from Baltimore, Md, in a vehicle on Southbridge Drive. Jones was arrested, and during the subsequent search, officers found eight baggies of suspected “crack” cocaine and a sum of U.S. currency. Additionally, the vehicle’s female operator, Kayla McCaslin, 25, from Glen Burnie, Md, was also found in possession of bags of suspected “crack” cocaine and was placed under arrest.

Following the development of probable cause, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Southbridge Drive, leading to further significant findings. The search yielded three firearms: a Glock 19 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a Ruger .38 Special revolver, and a Davis Industries P380 .380 caliber semi-auto handgun. Additionally, substantial quantities of drugs were seized, including 87.21 grams of “crack” cocaine, 20.68 grams of powder cocaine, 30.75 grams of MDMA, 1.62 grams of Clonazepam, along with $8,845.00 in U.S. currency.
