ELLENDALE, DE – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday night, which resulted in the death of a man.
The incident happened on June 1 at around 10:47 p.m. Authorities were alerted to a shooting at a home located in the 13000 block of South Old State Road. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a 28-year-old man in the front yard, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was later declared deceased at a local hospital.
Investigations indicate that the shooting followed an altercation between the victim and a female. During the confrontation, the female reportedly drew a firearm and shot the victim in the chest. She then fled the area in an undisclosed direction.
