PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s 16th District is currently investigating a double shooting that occurred on the unit block of N 51st Street at approximately 6:20 PM on June 5, 2024.
The incident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old Black male who was shot multiple times. He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by police but was pronounced dead at 6:55 PM.
The second victim, a 23-year-old Black male, sustained a gunshot wound to the left calf. He was also transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition.
At this time, the scene remains secured by police. No weapons have been recovered, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
