Regional Auto Task Force Cracks Down on Vehicle Theft Ring in Baltimore

Halethorpe, MD — A suspect has been apprehended and a stolen vehicle recovered following an investigation by the Regional Auto Task Force (RATT).

On Tuesday, June 25, at approximately 10:00 p.m., RATT detectives were led to a stolen Dodge Charger located in the rear area of the 2800 block of Manoff Road. Upon arrival, detectives observed the stolen vehicle being transported on a trailer by a black Hummer.

The Foxtrot aviation unit was requested to track and monitor the Hummer and the car until they were intercepted by detectives on Mansion Road in Anne Arundel County.

The driver, a 55-year-old male, was apprehended at the scene, and the stolen vehicle was recovered. It was determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen on October 12, 2023, in Howard County. The vehicle had been extensively dismantled, with its engine, transmission, and various other components removed.
