Bloomsbury Man Arrested for Lewd Images of Children

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ — The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office has announced the arrest of Seth Maguire, 27, from Bloomsbury, on serious charges related to the production and possession of lewd child imagery. The arrest occurred on June 21, 2024, with collaborative efforts from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Todd County Sheriff’s Office (KY), the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (NC), and the New Jersey State Police at Perryville Station, along with the assistance of the Paterson Police Department.

A cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) initiated a detailed investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Forensic Services Unit. This investigation led to Maguire’s charges, which include one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of children (directing child sexual abuse material), one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of children (possession of child sexual abuse material), and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of children (sexual conduct with a child).

Maguire is currently held at the Warren County Jail as legal proceedings continue. He was represented by attorney Jada Mayson-Osabu during his first court appearance. The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone. A pretrial detention motion is scheduled for July 9, 2024, as the community and the prosecuting bodies await further developments.
