Allegany County, MD — Maryland State Police Aviation Command (MSPAC) assisted Pennsylvania State Police in rescuing two 3-year-old boys from a hot car following a vehicle pursuit that ended near the Pennsylvania-Maryland border.
Yesterday, Trooper 5, a helicopter crew based in Allegany County, located the abandoned suspect vehicle. Landing in a nearby field, the crew discovered the children inside the car, which was turned off with windows closed and doors shut. Fortunately, both boys were unharmed.
The incident began when Maryland State Police from the McHenry Barrack initiated a pursuit after receiving a DUI alert from the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office. MSPAC’s prompt response and coordination prevented a potential tragedy. Pennsylvania State Police arrived at the scene and have taken over the investigation.
Maryland State Police emphasized their commitment to public safety and praised the efforts of their Aviation Command.
