Stamford Police Arrest Man on Multiple Charges Following Crime Stoppers Tip

STAMFORD, Conn. — On July 20, 2024, detectives from the Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics and Organized Crime unit apprehended Kevin Llewellyn after receiving a tip through the Crime Stoppers Gun Tip program.

Detectives conducted surveillance on Llewellyn, who was observed in the West Main Street area. With assistance from the patrol division and K-9 officers, Llewellyn was detained near Rose Park Avenue and Richmond Hill Avenue.

A search of Llewellyn revealed the following items in a fanny pack he was wearing:

  • A Taurus G2C 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a high-capacity magazine (reported stolen)
  • A 1911 Rock Island Armory .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun
  • 11.5 grams of fentanyl

Llewellyn faces multiple charges, including:

  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of Ammunition
  • Illegal Possession of a High Capacity Magazine
  • Theft of a Firearm
  • Possession of Narcotics
  • Interfering with Police

The Crime Stoppers Gun Tip program continues to be a valuable tool in the community’s fight against crime.
