New York City Cops on Manhunt for Bronx Rapist

BRONX, NY — A distressing incident occurred early Monday morning where a 35-year-old woman was assaulted in the Bronx.

The attack took place around 1:06 AM near the intersection of Bergen Avenue and East 149 Street. An unknown man, reportedly asking for directions, attacked the woman before fleeing east on East 149 Street towards Brook Avenue.

The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln and is reported to be in stable condition. The Bronx Special Victims Squad is leading the investigation.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, around 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a multicolored design on the front, black pants, black shoes, and carrying a dark-colored backpack.
