83-Year-Old Woman Attacked and Robbed Outside Somers Point Supermarket

SOMERS POINT, NJ – Somers Point Police Department responded to a strong-arm robbery incident at the Acme Supermarket on Thursday at approximately 10:50 AM. An 83-year-old female victim from Somers Point was attacked near the supermarket entrance, resulting in the theft of her purse.

The suspect, allegedly a younger male with a mask and dark clothing, is believed to be white. He reportedly fled the scene in the direction of Bethel Road following the robbery. The accused’s identity remains unknown at this time.

The victim, injured during the incident, was taken to SMC for medical treatment. The nature of her injuries has not been disclosed. Law enforcement requests any leads from the public to assist in identifying and locating the suspect.
