Bayville Resident Pleads Guilty to Eluding Charges

oms River, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced the guilty plea of David Lemmon for charges of eluding on October 7, before Judge Kenneth T. Palmer.

The plea is related to an incident that took place on November 8, 2023, in Manchester Township. The state plans to recommend a five-year term in New Jersey State Prison during sentencing on January 10, 2025.

The incident on November 8, 2023, was part of a narcotics investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force. Detectives observed Lemmon driving with John McDaniel, 47, of Toms River. Their vehicle was tracked from Ocean County to Trenton and back. As police attempted a traffic stop on Ridgeway Road in Manchester Township, Lemmon fled recklessly at high speed, forcing officers to end the pursuit out of concern for public safety.

Later, McDaniel was seen by Lakehurst Police walking on Railroad Avenue and was arrested. He faces charges including possession of heroin with intent to distribute, conspiracy, and drug paraphernalia possession. After being taken to Ocean County Jail,
