Brooklyn, NY – An East Flatbush man, identified as Damally Cain, has been arraigned on charges of attempted murder, assault, and other offenses following a series of alleged attacks on multiple women in Flatlands. The Brooklyn District Attorney’s office announced the indictment on Monday, which includes charges related to separate incidents involving three women on August 18.
District Attorney Eric Gonzalez stated that the initial alleged assaults took place in close succession. At approximately 4:42 p.m., near East 40th Street and Hubbard Place, it is alleged that Cain attacked a 66-year-old woman by pulling her to the ground, punching, kicking, and slamming her head against the pavement.
Her injuries resulted in hospital treatment, while a bystander’s intervention caused the assailant to flee, leaving behind personal items including his passport.
Minutes later, at 4:50 p.m., Cain is alleged to have attacked a 35-year-old woman near 1707 Flatbush Avenue, attempting to rob her of her phone and wallet. In this attempt, he is said to have pulled off part of her hair extension.
