Wilkes-Barre Man Arrested After Threatening Violence, Spewing Racial Slurs

Wilkes-Barre, PA – Authorities responded to an incident involving terroristic threats and disorderly conduct on North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 4:43 AM when officers were called to the scene.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police were dispatched to the location at 140 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard due to a report of a disorderly male refusing to leave the business premises. Upon arrival, officers communicated with store personnel who indicated the individual, identified as Roberto Herrera, age 36, from Warrior Run, PA, was engaged in an altercation with staff.

During the officers’ attempt to escort Herrera from the premises, he reportedly began shouting racial slurs and threatened physical harm to several customers present at the scene. Herrera also purportedly made an attempt to assault one of the customers.

Herrera was subsequently taken into custody by police officers. He was transported to City Headquarters where he underwent processing following his detention.
