Monroe Township, NJ – On Friday morning, an incident at Williamstown High School prompted a significant response from local law enforcement. An officer assist call was placed at about 9:08 a.m., after the school’s resource officer was assaulted by a student and a parent in the lobby.
The altercation also involved an assault on a faculty member. In response to the incident, both an adult and a juvenile were arrested by the authorities. Injuries sustained by the school resource officer included damage to the face and hands.
At no time during the disturbance were students at risk. The school undertook a temporary lockdown but services resumed to normal thereafter. As the investigation is ongoing, no additional details have been released at this time.
The Monroe Township Police Department has emphasized their zero-tolerance policy for violence on school grounds. This policy extends to actions involving both parents and students.
