Maryland woman wins $100,000 scratch-off prize at Severna Park Rite Aid

SEVERNA PARK, Md. — A Severna Park resident’s years of dedication to scratch-off games paid off in a big way when she claimed a $100,000 top prize from the Maryland Lottery’s $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off game.

The lucky winner, nicknamed “Jack,” purchased the $30 instant ticket at the Rite Aid on 25 Jones Station Road in Anne Arundel County. She was stunned when she scratched the ticket’s prize check area and saw the words “Winner, $100,000.”

“I’ve never seen so many zeros,” “Jack” told Lottery officials. “My heart was beating so fast, I thought it was going to come out of my chest.”

After realizing her life-changing win, “Jack” rushed home to share the news with close family members, including her brother, a fellow Lottery enthusiast who shares her dream of winning big.

When asked about her plans for the prize money, “Jack” said she plans to get ahead on bills, support her family, and continue playing scratch-offs, which she described as her hobby.

The win also benefits the retailer, as Rite Aid will receive a $1,000 Lottery bonus for selling the top-prize-winning ticket.

A Severna Park Rite Aid became the site of a dream come true for one loyal Lottery player.
