Unlocked Jail Cell Door In A Prison

DUQUESNE, Pa. — Authorities have charged two suspects in connection with a double shooting in Duquesne that left a 23-year-old woman dead and a man injured.

The Allegheny County Police Department announced that the shooting occurred inside a residence on the 1000 block of Orchard Park Avenue in the early hours of October 4. Responders found Niejah Hill, 23, deceased at the scene. An adult male victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Investigators determined that an individual had entered the home through an unlocked window and fired multiple shots at the victims. Detectives identified John Perry, 18, of Duquesne, as the alleged shooter. Police also uncovered evidence linking Perry to 17-year-old Daemond Artemus, who allegedly conspired with Perry to target the male victim. Artemus is currently incarcerated in the Allegheny County Jail on unrelated homicide charges.
