Woman robbed at gunpoint during Facebook Marketplace sale in Brooklyn Park

BROOKLYN PARK, Md. — A 20-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday evening while attempting to sell an item through Facebook Marketplace, Anne Arundel County Police reported.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cayer Drive in Glen Burnie at approximately 7:40 p.m. after the victim reported being robbed earlier in the 5200 block of Kramme Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Police say two male suspects confronted the woman, one of whom was armed and wearing a ski mask.

The suspects took the item the victim intended to sell before fleeing the scene. The victim was not injured in the incident, police said.

Authorities also reminded residents to utilize Safe Transaction Zones at police district stations for in-person exchanges arranged through online marketplaces.
